Margaret's story

Greetings from Sierra Leone! This is 39-year-old Margaret from Aberdeen branch. She is married with two children between the ages of 14 and 17 years old, and both of them are attending school. She started this business to care for herself and support her family.

Margaret runs a retail business and sells fast food, drinks, and other assorted items. She has been in this business for six years now. Her other source of income is from her husband’s business. Her main challenge is slow sales sometimes during this COVID-19.

She requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase foodstuffs, drinks, and other assorted items to increase her business. Margaret says that the extra income from this loan will help to improve her business and take care of her family’s welfare.

In the future, she would like to establish into a larger scale. She says thanks to BRAC and Kiva for their support.
