Badza Arinhepi Group's story

This is a saving group comprised of 20 members, most of them female. They have worked together since 2019 with the aim to help each other achieve a better quality of life for their families.

Beside working on small savings, the group members are also farmers. They grow and sell a variety of crops, such as veggies and cereals. They are also traders, buying a huge amount of fertilizers to sell to other smaller farmers, helping them to have a better yield.

The group members are resilient and dynamic. They've gone through many challenges such as cyclones and the recent pandemic. Despite the challenges, members continue to perform their activities since this is their singular source of income. Ana is one of the oldest members of the group. She found in the group a good opportunity to learn about saving and finance and also to reach out better business opportunities. With the amount she will receive from kiva, Ana intends to buy more fertilizers to sell to smaller farmers since most of them are now preparing the lands for the next season. in general, all group members expect to improve their business through this loan.

In order to increase income to enable them to pay for school fees for their children, the group is requesting a Kiva loan to buy more agricultural surplus and fertilizers to sell in the market.
