Nelly's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase raw materials and food ingredients to stock up her kitchen and better provide for her customers.

Nelly's story

Nelly is a 49-year-old mother of four, and all her children are grown up. She is married to a local bus driver who supports her with her family. Nelly lives with her family in a rural district which is located 3 kilometres out of Port Vila city. Her community is quite small, and the main industry is food. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it has been delicate at times to make some money.

Nelly has requested a loan to help her to pay for raw materials such as chicken wings and sausages to stock up her son's freezer, plus some food ingredients to stock up her kitchen. These will be used to produce hot, mouth-watering meals for her customers. With the profit she receives, she will save up so she can purchase her own deep freezer and continue to help her husband to pay her house bills. Nelly has been raising her children from the finances received from her business, which she has been in for over 20 years now.

South Pacific Business Development (Vanuatu) Ltd has supported Nelly for over 2 years now, and this is her third loan. She has been faithful in her previous loan repayments. Through her loans, Nelly feels empowered to expand her business so she can continue to provide for her family.
