Ricardo's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to invest in capital improvements to his workshop.

Ricardo's story

Ricardo, who works alongside his wife, Rai (pictured at left), is an artisan from Brazil who specializes in wood inlay jewelry and eco-friendly home decor. He would like to invest in capital improvements to his workshop.

Ricardo has been selling through NOVICA since 2016. This is his story:

"We left Northern Brazil seeking new work opportunities and better schools for our little daughter. We began crafting earrings and necklaces with our wood inlay techniques. We had never done this before, and had to create our own technique and tools to develop our line of eco-friendly jewelry and decor accessories. When we need extra help, we call in youth from a nearby juvenile detention facility to work with us. Ours is a family effort."

"A microcredit is always a great support for small artisans like us, but in these difficult times it is vital. The six family members involved in our handcraft production are very grateful to each of you that made this loan possible and will be very happy and proud if one of our pieces is bought by you."
