A loan helped to customize rooms so he can attract new customers.

Gregory's story

Red Rocks is a Rwandan-based business owned and managed by Gregory. It is a tourism company that provides different services such as guest houses, camping sites, tour agencies, and recreation centers. The company has offices in Musanze and Nyakinama in the northern province of Rwanda.

The company started off as a tour agency in 2013. Later, Gregory bought a plot where he built the Red Rocks cultural center and other facilities like tents, a guest house, and a local restaurant. His business was successful because he was able to build another guest house in Musanze where tourists who would like to visit volcanoes can stay.

Gregory's cultural centers have inspired women in nearby communities who weave baskets and tailors who make clothing to develop their talents. They are now weaving different materials such as baskets used for various tasks, decorations, earrings, bracelets, and beautifully designed clothes in Kitenge. This helps them sustain their standards of living as well as those of their families. He was also able to offer jobs to other people such as drivers and guides.

Gregory is requesting a loan for $20,000 as working capital to customize some rooms and attract a new customer segment. This will bring more people to his company and more tourists to the country, as well as enhance the development of the tourism sector, and provide more job opportunities to the people who live in those communities.
