Palomita Group's story

This committee named “Palomita” is in its second loan cycle. All of the members are from an indigenous community. Most of them are hardworking rural women who help one another, work the land, and raise animals.

Raquel is one of the members. She is a widow and a mother. Raquel has the difficult task of working the land so that she can support her family by herself. She is a selfless person who never gives up. Even though she is very humble, she looks for ways to help her loved ones and provide them with a decent life.

Raquel is requesting a loan to buy seeds and farming supplies so that she can prepare the land for planting.

Note: The photo shows only one person, even though this is a group loan. It was not possible to take a group photo in order to avoid congregating during the COVID-19 pandemic.
