A loan helped to buy pig feed and piglets for raising and selling.

Nongyao's story

Nongyao is a married local woman who lives with her parents and child in a Khmer community in Buriram Province, Northeast Thailand. Her family makes a living primarily by cultivating a jasmine rice farm and raising pigs for sale as a secondary job.

Rice farming does not provide a sufficient income for her family, so Nongyao looked for a way to increase income for spending in her family. Then, she discovered the pig selling business. She started her business about three years ago. The business is doing well. During this period, she planned to increase the number of pigs at her farm. Therefore, she applied for a loan through Kiva to purchase pig feed and piglets for raising and selling.

This loan will enable her to afford the necessary items for her business as well as assist local entrepreneurs to increase their income. In the near future, she intends to expand her farm and hopes to see her family having a better life.
