Buapan's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy thread, a sewing machine, and shoemaking materials.

Buapan's story

Buapan is a married local woman who lives with her husband and children in a rural community of Surin Province in the northeastern region of Thailand. Her family basically makes a living by cultivating a jasmine rice farm and sewing shoes to sell.

Buapan's family previously focused entirely on jasmine cultivation on a rice farm to support her family's income, but this was insufficient. Therefore, she created a secondary job, making shoes after finishing their rice farming.

She started the business a few years ago. Her family's income has increased as a result of this business. During this period, she sought an opportunity to expand her business by applying for a Kiva loan to purchase silk thread, a sewing machine, and shoemaking materials.

The loan will allow her to purchase the needed materials to move her business forward while also supporting local entrepreneurs. She hopes to see her family happy in the future and to have a higher standard of living.
