but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped a family-owned start-up restaurant to buy equipment, hire helpers, and buy signs to help promote.
I met my husband (Jose) and his brother (Carlos) five years ago. The three of us became close through food. I came from Thailand and the two brothers are from Mexico. Coming from different cultures, we would always try out different foods from different countries such as Korea, China, Peru, etc. and we would come up with different ideas on how certain ingredients would go well with Thai or Mexican food. Our passion for food motivated us to one day open a restaurant together. I was a waitress at different Thai restaurants, Jose was a bar manager/waiter and Carlos was a chef at different restaurants for many years. We were saving up little by little to own a restaurant together one day. Because of my family ties and the brothers’ interest in Asia and travel, our plan was to open a restaurant in Thailand 5 years from now. As you will read, owning and running a restaurant came sooner than we originally thought - instead of in Thailand, it is a few blocks from our combined family home in our US hometown of West Allis, WI. Our future dreams include one day opening a restaurant in Thailand for our growing family so we can leave a legacy for our daughter Lily (and others that may come along).
