Las Rosas De Alotenango Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy an industrial mixer and cookie molds.

Las Rosas De Alotenango Group's story

Gloria is a 28-year-old single mother of two children (6, 11) who bakes delicious cookies, pies, cakes and sweets. She lives in the department/state of Sacatepequez. She also makes flowered wreaths that customers buy when there are burials. She also has a third business selling flavorful regional appetizers and snack foods, as well as lunches! Gloria is a busy woman! She is requesting her second Kiva loan to buy an industrial mixer and cookie molds for her baking business.

Gloria is the Secretary of the Friendship Bridge Trust Bank “Las Rosas de Alotenango". There are eight other ladies in the group who empower themselves at their monthly meetings by participating in interactive educational training sessions. Topics are relevant to their lives and drawn from four areas: business, health, family, women. Gloria participated in an advanced training and learned how to decorate cakes and pies. She shares, “I have really benefited from taking this class and because I learned new techniques, my business is more popular than ever!” Every two months, the women have access to basic health care services, a critical component of the program. The health care system in Guatemala is underfunded and always stressed thin.

Gloria and her friends in the Trust Bank are opening doors into a brighter future because of their own determination and their participation in the program. Thank you, Kiva investors, for lending a helping hand! You are much appreciated!
