Sela's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase modern tools and inputs such as certified seeds and organic fertilizers in order to improve the quality of her output.

Sela's story

Sela is a 55-year-old mother of one school-going child. They live in Kitui, a place where every Kiva lender would like to be and enjoy the beautiful climate. She practices dairy and crop farming. Her great desire in farming is to succeed, and her measure of success is registering a higher yield than previously. This desire is pushing her into adopting modern farming methods.

Sela is seeking this loan to buy modern farming inputs, which she will use to improve her production and make more income to support her family during this tough global economic recession. The COVID-19 pandemic has posed a significant threat to the economy of Kenya, causing a lot of uncertainty and a disruption of the food supply chain.

Juhudi Kilimo, in partnership with Kiva, is at the forefront in combating the pandemic by supporting smallholder farmers and micro-entrepreneurs during this difficult period.

Dear lender, be inspired and protect Sela from the effects of the pandemic with just a loan!
