Elisabeth's story

Elisabeth is a 61 year old mother of four, her children are all grown up and have their own families. She is married to a pastor who has been a very supportive husband. Elisabeth lives with her husband and children and their families in their own home which is located 7 kilometers from Port Vila city. Her community is quite large, and the main industry is agriculture. Ni-Vanuatu love their local food so for one to earn income from this industry has been quite satisfying.

Elisabeth has requested a loan to help her purchase retail goods, a carton of chicken wings and ice cream to stock her small kitchen shop to help provide for her customers and increase her income as well.

With the earned profit, Elisabeth will use it to start building a separate room to expand her kitchen shop to a retail shop and also for her tailoring business. Elisabeth has been sewing for over 40 years, she taught herself to sew from watching others. She has a lot of customers who are from all corners of Vanuatu.

This is Elisabeth's third loan with South Pacific Business Development (Vanuatu) Ltd. She has been devoted to her previous loan repayments. From her loans, Elisabeth feels empowered to expand her business and become a successful businesswoman.
