A loan helped to buy a buffalo.

Noong Luong 43 Group's story

Dinh is the woman who stands first from the far right in the picture. She is a 37-year-old Thai ethnic minority lady. She has two children, a daughter who is 15 years old and a little son who is 5 years old.

Dinh lives with husband and children in a traditional Thai stilt house made of wood. Dinh dropped out when she was in secondary school and has been a farmer. Her main income is from agricultural productions and her husband's salary.

Every day, Dinh works very hard on her farm undertaking many agricultural activities such as growing rice, corn and raising pigs, chickens, ducks, fish and buffalo. Although this is many activities, their scale is still small.

Wishing to expand the breeding model to get more income, Dinh requested to take a sixth loan from the Anh Chi Em program after what she has successfully achieved from previous loans. This time, the loan will be used to buy a buffalo.

Dinh believes that, with her five years experience with buffalo, together with support from the Anh Chi Em program on agricultural techniques, the buffalo will grow up fast, be healthy and deliver for her many baby buffaloes.

Dinh hopes her children will have a bright future and her family economy will be more stable.
