Merina's story

Merina is 46 years old, divorced, and has seven children. She has a small farm where she grows taro root and bananas that she can sell in her community or at the market. Merina has been in this business for nine years. She is a hardworking mother who is strong and healthy. Merina has many customers because she offers delicious products.

She needs a loan to buy chemicals, fertilizer, a new wheelbarrow, a tiller, a rake, new rubber boots, and a spade. Having this equipment will help to grow her business. Merina will use the profits from her sales to cover her family’s weekly expenses.

Merina has been a member of SPBD since 2020. She slowly became successful after joining the program and established a small business to help her family out of poverty and send her children to school. Merina is very grateful for the support of the lenders with their finance assistance, which has helped her build a business and improve her family’s living standards.
