Charity's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to expand her business and increase the size and range of her stock.

Charity's story

Charity is a 31-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her husband and children in the Chinsali district in Zambia. Charity sells groceries. She's received a Kiva loan before and successfully repaid it.

Now she is requesting another loan to expand her business. With her first Kiva loan, she replenished her inventory, which increased her sales, and now her business is thriving. Charity is requesting a second loan to expand her business by buying more groceries to meet her customers' needs.

She plans to use the profit she earns to pay school fees for her children and buy books and sanitary pads for vulnerable children in her community. Charity will repay the ‘social interest’ on her second loan by volunteering three hours per week as a CAMFED Learner Guide, facilitating classes from CAMFED’s ‘My Better World’ program with students at her local secondary school, which helps to build children’s self-esteem, and to motivate them to remain in school.
