Las Minas Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase 1 sow, 2 calves, and material (cement, metal sheets, boards) to enlarge the corrals.

Las Minas Group's story

Ana, a married, 30-year-old mother with three children over the age of 3, had the opportunity to go to school for seven years.

To get income and support her spouse with the household expenses, Ana raises animals such as pigs, cows, ducks, and chickens. She has been doing this for over five years. Ana uses part of her income to send her oldest child to school.

At this time, she has several orders and needs to increase the quantity of animals. Ana is asking for her first Kiva loan to purchase 1 sow, 2 calves, and material (cement, metal sheets, boards) to enlarge the corrals.

Ana is the president of the Friendship Bridge communal bank "Las Minas" with 6 other ethnic Mam women. They live in the high mountains in the department/state of San Marcos. These women look forward to the monthly meetings in which they are offered support, make loan payments, and participate in educational training, part of the "Microcrédito Plus" program of loans, education, and health services. The session themes are relevant to their lives and come from 4 areas: business, health, family, and women.

The business training helps them to efficiently manage their businesses of food, raising animals, textiles, selling snacks, and stores with products for daily consumption.

Ana and the other women send thanks to the Kiva lenders from all parts of the world for being a bridge which leads to success and development! Thank you!
