While each member of the group receives an individual loan, they are all collectively responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members if someone is delinquent or defaults. The official name of this borrowing group is Rowena O.. Rowena is married and has three school-aged children. Rowena owns and operates a clothing business. The main source of income for the business comes from selling second hand clothes within their village. Rowena has been engaged in her business for over eight years and earns approximately 2500 Philippine pesos (PHP) a month from it. In 2010, Rowena joined ASKI to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to do business. Rowena is requesting a loan of 5,000 PHP which will be used to purchase additional clothes to sell. This loan will be the first loan taken out by Rowena from ASKI.
