08-Faoune Group's story

This group of 9 women belongs to the banc villageois that was created in April 2008. They live in the same village and get along well. Their main income generating activity is retail. Lama, aged 62, is married and the mother of seven children. She has seven other children under her care. She represents the group alone to comply with the measures against covid-19. With this new loan, she is planning to buy sacks of baobab fruits, bissap [hibiscus juice] and sugar to make juice to sell. With the resulting profits, she will pay for her children's food and school fees, as well as strengthen her savings.
