A loan helped to buy a sewing machine, thread, and materials for sewing clothes.

Puttamat's story

Puttamat lives with her mother and daughters in a rural community of Surin province, Northeast Thailand. Her family generally earns income from sewing clothes and raising native chickens.

Puttamat has worked in Bangkok, but she lost her job due to the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic. Then, she decided to come back to her hometown and started the sewing business at that time. However, she needed a budget to invest in the business. She has looked for an opportunity to buy a sewing machine, thread, and materials for sewing clothes, so she applied for the Kiva loan to invest in the occupation.

The loan will be helpful for Puttamat to afford the sewing machine and materials for sewing clothes. Moreover, it will encourage this local entrepreneur to have a job during the spread of the pandemic.
