Angelita's story

Angelita is from Albuera, Leyte. She is married and has a 22 year old son. To earn an income, she runs a sari-sari (variety) store, selling basic commodities. She has been in this business for many years. Meanwhile, her husband works as a carpenter and tricycle driver to support the family.

Now she is asking for a loan of PHP 25,000 through Kiva’s field partner, CEVI (a microfinance NGO) in the Philippines. With this loan she will use buy groceries like canned goods, noodles, snack foods, toiletries, drinks and charcoal to sell in her store.

Angelita wants to expand her store and become more productive.
