Mila's story

Mila P., from the town of Siayan, is 38 years old, married, and has one school-aged child. To make a living, Mila owns and operates a specialized retail store selling animal feed and farm-related products in the local community. Engaged in her business for over three years, she earns approximately 4,000 PHP a month.

In 2009, Mila joined PMPC to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Having repaid her previous loan of 25,000 PHP from PMPC that was used to purchase additional inventory and as working capital, she is now requesting a new loan of 50,000 PHP to buy corn and rice to sell. Mila plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve the general living conditions of her family.
