Karen's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy cereal grains such as corn and beans, which she plans to resell and make more income to support her family during this tough global economy.

Karen's story

Karen, a 26-year-old mom, is a charismatic woman and an excellent example of what hard work can accomplish. Today she has many years of experience in dairy and mixed farming. The income she makes from selling crops is used to meet the basic needs of her household. In that time, she has gathered much experience in this business, and she is not comfortable with the little amount she earns because she is the major breadwinner in her household.

Karen enjoys the profits she gets from farming. However, due to rising costs of living, she needs to boost her income by buying different varieties of cereals from local farmers and selling them to her customers at the local market. Through this arrangement, she will earn a commission, which she intends to use to repay the loan and elevate her standard of living. This loan is an opportunity that she has never received before. Her irregular income and lack of collateral security were the main drawbacks limiting her from accessing a loan in commercial banks. Thanks to Juhudi Kilimo and Kiva, the lives of Karen and her family will be changed through this loan.
