Mercy's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy inputs, such as nutrient-rich fertilizers and certified seeds, to help an easygoing mom improve her farm production.

Mercy's story

Meet Mercy (a 27-year-old mom of four school-going children), an easy going mom who always believes that life’s ups and downs should not be viewed as the end but as an opportunity to learn to improve in life. Supporting her children and seeing them successfully graduate from school has always been her dream. She has practiced dairy farming and crop farming for many years now.

In the Bomet area of Kenya, where she is from, most people depend on agriculture for a living. The people there live and work on small farms. Their biggest challenge is the huge deficit in access to agricultural inputs, meaning that farmers' yields and incomes are far below what they could be.

Juhudi Kilimo has partnered with Kiva to provide financial services to smallholders around Kenya. Through these financial services, farmers in Chuka now can buy productive assets and important agricultural inputs for use on their farms. Mercy is seeking a loan to buy farm inputs, such as seeds and fertilizers. Your loan will enable her to improve her production through the use of quality farm inputs. This intervention will help her fill the increasing demand for food in the market. In the process, she'll be able to generate more income to repay the loan debt and elevate the quality of life for her family.

Kindly make this opportunity a reality for this humble mom.
