Twanzane Group's story

Jacky is a client of the micro-finance institution Hekima and the president of the business group called "Twanzane." She is married, 55 years old, and a mother of 10 children. Two of the children are in school, while eight of the children are already independent. Her partner is a teacher.

Jacky sells pagnes [bright, colorful fabric]. She started this business 25 years ago with start-up funds she recieved from her husband. Later, she joined Hekima to support her business, which continues to evolve. With this new loan, she is going to buy five loads of pagnes, which will increase her initial capital. A challenge to her business is a lack of customers.

Jacky would like to see her children continue in school and to feed her family. Finally, she wishes to thank Hekima and their partners for their support to business owners who lack access to financial services in the context of the global COVID-19 crisis. The photo includes only the group leader in order to respect social distancing measures in place because of COVID-19.
