Phalkun's story

Phalkun is a 38-year-old experienced farmer from the Kiri Vong District of Takeo Province. She lives with her spouse and child, who completely depend on her income and attend school. She is engaged in growing rice and raising some poultry at home to cover her family's needs. She has knowledge in growing rice such as land preparation, cultivation and growth of rice, about Fertilizer, diseases on rice and other agriculture tasks. Phalkun and her husband help each other earn household income so that they can provide food, medicines, education, and basic living needs.

Because of the shortage of finances, Phalkun has applied for a loan in the amount of USD 2,000 to pay for the construction of a kitchen at her house. With this loan, she will have money to purchase construction supplies such as bricks and cement and to pay for laborers. This new kitchen is very important to protect her family members and help them live with a comfortable living standard in a good environment and have a sanitation place for food cooking.

She sends thanks to all the lenders who have contributed their funds to help poor people like her. She believes that through her hard work and perseverance, she will be able to attain a better standard of living someday. She takes a photograph with her husband.
