A loan helped to pay for ground filler to cover the mud around her house.

Morn's story

Morn is a 58-year-old experienced farmer. She is a widowed woman, from the Angkor Chey District of Kampot Province. She lives with her children.

Morn is engaged in growing rice and raising some poultry at home to cover her family's needs. She has knowledge in growing rice such as land preparation, cultivation and growth of rice, fertilizer, diseases on rice and other agriculture tasks. Morn is honest and industrious in her daily duties because she wants to raise her living conditions and provide for her children's basic needs.

Because of a shortage in her finances, she has applied for a loan of USD 2,000 to pay for ground filler to cover the mud around her house. With this loan support, she can pay for the ground filling and provide her family members with a good environment and fresh air, protecting them from illness and creating good living conditions. She will use the remaining funds to dig a well and to collect water for usage. With this, she will not have to bring water from a far area distance and will have enough water for cooking food.

In the future, Morn aims to renovate her old house and purchase more farmland for agriculture purpose. She believes that through her hard work and perseverance she will be able to attain a better standard of living someday.
