Los Rosales Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase chickens, piglets and feed, as well as materials (wood, nails and mesh) to expand her pens.

Los Rosales Group's story

Felipa is 24 years old. She is a resourceful woman who is getting ahead. She shares the following: “I am a married woman. I do not have children yet but I take care of my home. At the same time, I have the opportunity to be the owner of two businesses: raising animals (chickens, turkeys and pigs) and textiles. Thanks to the revenues that these businesses are generating, I have been able to generate income to build a better family future. With my 1st Kiva loan, I will be able to invest in my animal business, since I have orders at the moment".

Felipa will purchase chickens, piglets and feed, as well as materials (wood, nails and mesh) to expand her pens.

There are seven women in the “Los Rosales” [the rose bushes] Friendship Bridge Communal Bank. They live in the department / state of Quiché and their native language is K’iche’.

Because they have little education, they value business training since it helps them better manage their animal husbandry (chicken and pigs) and textile businesses. Every two months, they have access to basic health care exams. Friendship Bridge’s Microcredit Plus loan program, educational training, and medical care plan offers programs and services that create opportunities so that families can build sustainable futures in Guatemala. The 32,000 women who participate in the program are proud of the success they are achieving.

Kiva lenders, in partnership with Friendship Bridge, provide a lot of support to these women. Thank you!
