Dolores's story

Dolores, who is 31 years old, is a simple and hard working mother. She lives in her parents' house with her 29 year old husband, Joel, and their 2 beloved children, to whom they want to give a better quality of life. The arduous work days that Dolores has spent on her small farm have served to improve her crop and make her land more productive. She works together with her older daughter starting very early in the morning. They cultivate potatoes and beans, products that she will later bring to the wholesale market in the city of Tarma to sell. What she likes best about her work is sowing her land and seeing her crops grow. She has been in this business for 5 years and feels that the most difficult part is taking care of the crops on her farmland. With time, she hopes to purchase more land and increase her production quantity. This is her eighth loan with MFP. She was very timely in the repayment of her first loan, and she expects to be so now as well. She is a very happy member of her communal bank, which is why she is well liked by the rest of the members. With the 3000 PEN ($1075 USD) that she is requesting, she will purchase more fertilizer to improve her crops.
