Yamah's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy more oil, fufu and charcoal to sell.

Yamah's story

This is 44-year-old Yamah, a widow with four children, all of whom are schooling and live at home. Yamah is a hardworking businesswoman who sells oil, fufu and charcoal. For the past 15 years, she has been managing her sales. Her late husband gave her money to start the business and she learned how to sell from her mother.

She has applied for a loan through KIVA field partner BRAC Liberia to buy more oil, fufu and charcoal to sell to her good clients. She uses a car to transport supplies to her business site and has no problem with her sales. Her resulting profits will help her children at home.

She likes her business because it gives her money each day that she makes sales. Her dream for the future is to give her children a better life.

Yamah is highly grateful for the financial support BRAC and KIVA have rendered.
