Decontee's story

This is Decontee, who is 37 years old and from Liberia. She is married and has four children, three of whom are in school and live at home. Decontee went to school and stopped in 9th grade. Her husband works as a driver to earn extra income.

She is a hardworking businesswoman who sells rice, oil, charcoal and vita and has been operating her sales for 10 years now. Decontee started the business with some funds from her husband, and she learned how to sell from her mother. To maintain her business, she requested a loan through BRAC Liberia, a Kiva Field Partner, to buy more rice, oil, charcoal and vita to sell to her good clients.

Decontee likes her business because it helps to sustain her family. Her dream for the future is to increase her business. Decontee is highly grateful for the financial support rendered.
