Temalesi's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to purchase materials for her "tapa" making business and also start some other businesses - fish retail.
Temalesi has been in "tapa" making business for a long time. Tapa is a traditional Fijian craft which uses flattened mulberry bark for painting exquisite symbols representing the characteristics of her clan. Tapa sells briskly to tourists. However, due to the COVID-19 restrictions in Fiji, tourism industry has halted for more than a year now. Temalesi can only sell her tapa when there is a traditional funeral ceremony. In order to survive, Temalesi has to have alternative business. She plans to make use of her existing freezer to stock on fish she buys from the fishermen and sell this to town.
