Agnes's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farm inputs, such as fertilizer and seeds, and improve her crop production, in order to sell the crops and use the increased profits to improve her standard of living.

Agnes's story

Agnes (67) believes that her past will not dictate her future. She started practicing mixed farming four years ago. As the major breadwinner of her family with both aging parents and children, she farms a small plot of land in the green, lush hills of Matuu, in the central region of Kenya. Agnes decided to start mixed farming with the hope of giving her family a better quality of life.

Her desire to get ahead is admirable because, despite the obstacles she has experienced, she doesn't reduce her efforts to achieve her objectives. What she sets out to do, she achieves. Through her profits, she has managed to take care of her family's needs and give her children a good education.

Agnes is seeking a loan of 70,000 KES to buy seeds and improve her crop farming on her farm. She wants to take advantage of her area's favorable weather patterns, the good road network in her village, good soil, and a ready market for crop products to reap more profits.

Juhudi Kilimo is partnering with Kiva to help hardworking women like Agnes make their farming dreams come to reality through training and loan financing. Help this woman with dreams and goals to achieve. Come make a loan and make Agnes's next planting season wonderful!
