Michelle's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped minority-owned small business train critically needed healthcare personnel to SAVE LIVES!

Michelle's story

I am a Registered Nurse educator and CPR Instructor with years of experience in direct patient care and training competent nursing staff(nurses and nurse aides). I absolutely love teaching and when the students connect what they learn to real life situations. During this COVID-19 pandemic, the shortage of healthcare workers, particularly nurse assistants, has been highlighted. I am motivated by the desire to fulfill the critical shortage of competent nurse aides to provide compassionate care to others and save lives. In addition, I want to remove the barriers to health and economic equity. My training school is located in an underserved community with few educational opportunities in the area. My students will be able to train and work in the community in which they live, caring for members of their own community while earning a livable wage as a nurse assistance.
