Javela's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped a minority, women-owned business build inventory for the White Label Expo to grow our wholesale.

Javela's story

Hello! My name is Javela. I was born and raised in the Upstate of SC. I am married to my wonderful husband of 13 years, Steven and we parent our fur son & daughter, Cowboy & Sadie. In 2013, I started Gifted Hands Artisan Soap to help me cope with the news of being diagnosed with PCOS. Meaning it was going to be an uphill battle to become parents. Researching and trying to figure out what could help along my journey. It became increasingly clear that all of our skincare and household clean products had ingredients that were known as endocrine disrupters.  So I started seeking out healthier alternatives. Soap was one of the products we wanted to start with and through my research, I found it could be made at home. So began the beauty for ashes journey of Gifted Hands Artisan Soap. I get to be a mother of creation and steward of a business that gets to represent the healing path of giving God my ashes and him giving me something beautiful in return. Of course, we still want children but are content to wait on God's timing while we get to share His love and grace through our story. (Isaiah 63:1)
