Lydia's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farming inputs to improve her crop production and make more profits to support her family during this hard economic period.

Lydia's story

Lydia is a 28-year-old mom of four school-going children who lives in the Kapsowar area of Kenya. She has a beautiful family and she ensures that they live a decent lifestyle. She is a farmer who grows different crops. She earns income by selling her produce in her local market.

Lydia is seeking a loan to buy fertilisers to improve her crop farm. She plans to improve the quality of her produce to enable her to sell more and increase her profits. She plans to sell her quality produce at prices high enough to fund all of the expenses incurred, plus generate a profit. She is confident that she will be able to repay the loan in time because of her unique customer relationship skills.

The returns from the investment will change her life and that of her entire household, as she will use the additional income to raise her standard of living. Lydia has a great desire to succeed and also a desire that Kiva lenders will listen to her request and help her to better her life. She thanks her lenders for their generous support.
