Salima's story

I was a stay-at-home mom of 4 and struggling to provide for my family. In 2010 my husband left us and I took a Position at H R Block because of the flexible hours. In 2014 I was offered a promotion that would require me to work over 40 hours a week and no flexibility, With 4 kids and no other help, I decided to decline and started focusing on branching out on my own. Having flexibility for my family was the top priority for me. In 2016 I started a Tax and Accounting business. I rented a small space in the ACE Cash location. I marketed my business as much as possible. I used Facebook for 90% of my marketing and it was working very well. By 2018 I was able to bring on 2 other Tax Preparers that were also looking for a PT flexible position. in 2019 I expanded to more professional office space and a bit larger for all of us. 2020 was a challenge, the office building was closed and I had to upgrade m website so clients can submit documents safely online. I also invested in an app to offer remote services. My goal for the 2021 season is to expand to larger office space to allow more growth and more employees. I like to offer better training for employees and need classroom space. With the expansion of my business, I will have space and staff to reach over 1200 Tax clients each season. This loan can help me move to a larges space and to hire, train new local employees to grow the client base.
