Beatriz's story

Beatriz M. is from the town of Sta. Josefa. She is 52 years old. Beatriz is married and has three children. To make a living, Beatriz raises crops. The main source of income for the business comes from planting and harvesting rice for sale. Beatriz does not mind working at the farm the whole day because she says it is what she loves doing. She is also happy to be working hand-in-hand with her husband at the farm. Beatriz joined CEVI to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Beatriz has successfully repaid a previous loan from CEVI. Beatriz is requesting a new loan of 6,000 Philippine pesos (PHP), which will be used to purchase fertilizers, seeds and livestock feed. This will be the second loan taken out by Beatriz from CEVI. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to supplement the family's income. About CEVI: Community Economic Ventures, Inc (CEVI) has increased its portfolio significantly over recent years. Based in Bohol, they have numerous branches throughout the Philippines. In 2009, CEVI was awarded a CGAP silver award for transparency in social-performance monitoring. CEVI not only provides credit for its clients, but also offers savings, insurance and training programs, which are provided through regular cluster-group meetings. *Note: To maximize efficiency and reduce costs, this loan was posted using a template to automate the translation by Kiva.
