A loan helped to buy pandanus for her weaving business and hire more laborers to help her in weaving.

Tanesi's story

Meet Tanesi a 61-year-old mother who has three children and ten grandchildren. She has been running a weaving business for more than six years now, with the help of her one daughter and daughters-in-law.

In every month, they can only weave one mat which is thirty meters long and seven meters wide. They can only weave one ta'ovala per month. They weave in many unique styles which attract more than ten customers every month not only in the local market but also highly demanded from Tongan citizens overseas as well. Due to the very high demand in the market for her weaving, she is now facing a challenge of not enough labor to help her with her weaving.

Tanesi will use this loan to hire three more laborers to help them in weaving so that she can overcome her current business challenge and buy more pandanus for the business. She has a vision of becoming a successful women in business by maintaining her current customers and satisfying their needs and wants. She also wants to helps her grandchildren's education so that they can become businesswomen and businessmen one day.
