Mujeres Luchadoras Group's story

The group is called Mujeres Luchadoras. It is in its 10th loan cycle of the women’s committee program, where all of them work and help each other to get ahead. They are part of the program for the elimination of poverty, in which they all fight to give her loved ones a better quality of life.

One of the members is Carmen, a single mother of 2 children. She works in sales and has a grocery store in her house. She mentions that she had a humble start, and that through this job she is able to support her household and her family. She is a hardworking person who looks for a way to keep helping her loved ones and make sure they have everything they need.

She is requesting this loan to buy a variety of products to stock her grocery store with beverages, baked goods, vegetables, fruits, canned goods, dairy and other products.

Note: there is only one person in the picture, but this is a group loan. It was not possible to take a group photo due to crowding and COVID-19.
