Thanh Yen 42 Group's story

One member of Thanh Yen 42 Group is thirty-nine-year-old Thuy. She is a woman of Thai ethnicity who married very young. She lives happily with her husband and two children in a small stilt house. Thuy's children are adults and have stable jobs. In the remote village of Vietnam where they live, agriculture is the main source of income.

Thuy is a hard-working woman. In addition to working for a small business, she also grows rice and breeds cows and chickens. Now, Thuy wants to expand her production and her business, so she is asking for an 11th loan from the Anh Chi Em program. She successfully repaid her 10th loan.

Thuy will use her portion of this loan to buy a cow to raise and sell. Thuy hopes that the cow will grow quickly and healthily and then help her reap a good income. She plans to use her profit to reinvest in more cows. Thuy dreams of a good future for her whole family.

In the photo, Thuy is the woman with the friendly smile.
