Emma Maribel's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy a coating machine and supplies such as buttons, needles, closures, fabric, and lace.

Emma Maribel's story

Emma is a divorced woman who lives with her children in a modest home in the area known as Huaca. She and her children are very happy there; though they don't live in luxury, they always have their love for each other.

After her divorce, Emma had to find a way to make a living for her household. That is how she came up with the idea of putting her sewing skills to use by opening a small sewing workshop in her house. So with her upright machine, she began repairing clothing for her neighbors. She now has two sewing machines and has started sewing for some organizations that place orders with her because of the quality of her work.

She wants to buy a coating machine to give her clothing a nicer finish. That is why she is seeking a loan from the Kiva organization to improve her business.
