A loan helped to buy mulberry for her tapa making business. Her own mulberry plantation is not yet mature to be of use.

Latai's story

Latai is 49 years old and she runs a tapa making business. She is the mother of five children. Her husband works as a farmer in his own plantation and provides food for the table. Latai's business earning helps her in managing her family's daily expenses. With her tapa making business, she is also able to pay for her kids' school fees.

Latai joined a group of women in her village and together they make and sell tapas. She sell out her tapas to her relatives overseas and also to other customers at the local market. Her mulberry plantation has been recovered with her husband replanting it but it is not yet usable. Therefore, Lotai has applied for a loan to buy mulberry. Latoi dreams to educate her children for a brighter future and also to build a better house for them to live.
