Yaneth's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to remodel her store, located in native indigenous territory, and to buy inventory.

Yaneth's story

Meet Yaneth!

Yaneth is an indigenous woman living in Pueblo Nuevo, Panama with her family and three children.

Yaneth has always wanted to be an entrepreneur, and two years ago she received a loan from Kiva that allowed her to open her own store. While her children attend classes, she works at the store every day to provide her community members with easy access to the agricultural goods she grows—including cocoyam, yucca, and plantains—as well as drinks, ice cream, and handmade crafts.

This loan will go to help Yaneth remodel her store, which will allow her to better serve her community. She also plans to use the money to buy new goods to diversify her products for her customers.

With the profits from her additional sales, she wants to remodel her home. Yaneth strives to make a better life for her children and hopes that this store will inspire others.

Thank you for supporting indigenous entrepreneurs in communities that have been historically excluded from basic financial services.
