A loan helped to buy construction supplies for the renovation of her old house.

Ngoeun's story

Ngoeun is a 39-year-old experienced farmer from the Angkor Borei district of Takeo. She lives with her spouse and four children, who completely depend on her income, and three of them are attending school. Ngoeun is engaged in growing rice and raising some poultry at home to cover her family's needs.

Ngoeun and her spouse help each other manage their rice farm to ensure high crop yields in each harvest season. They have been in this business for more than five years. Farming is an important source of her family’s income. Rice is Cambodia's major crop, its principal food, and in times of peace, its most important export commodity.

With her best effort, she can earn approximately USD 5 per day to pay for daily meals, clothes, medicine, and other necessary things. At the moment, her house is under construction and she needs more materials to finish it. Due to a shortage of her money she requested a loan, which she will use to buy construction supplies for the renovation of her old house. With the loan, she can purchase construction supplies such as bricks and cement to cover the lack of a roof and to pay labor costs.

She hopes that through the help of the loan she can provide everyone in her family with a suitable place to live and comfortable living conditions. She aims to purchase more land for agricultural purposes and open a small grocery store to earn additional income. She sends her thanks to all lenders for helping her family.
