'Emalani's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy stock for her retail store and also hire men to harvest her kava plantation.

'Emalani's story

Emalani is 52 years old. She is married with seven children, and she lives with her husband in their own home with their two daughters only. Her husband is elderly and can no longer perform working in their plantation. 'Emalani is helped by her eldest daughter with their retail store in their front yard. They serve the local villagers by selling different goods to satisfy their needs. From their store, they sell a variety of goods including meat and many more. For their plantation, they grow kava (Tongan beer) and sell it to earn income to help their retail store. She hires men only to do the work for their plantation in harvesting and processing of the kava. Kava is sold from the retail store at any time. She applies for a loan to purchase stock for the store and also to harvest their kava plantation.
