Ñepytyvo Group's story

The group called “Ñepytyvo” was started with the effort of neighbors and friends in the city of Itá. The group is in its ninth loan cycle and it is also part of the Poverty Stoplight program which, with daily effort and sacrifice, members find ways to overcome their poverty and help their families.

Mariela is one of the members. She is married and is a mother and states that she sells clothing from her house to provide better living conditions for her loved ones. She comments that she is looking for a way to continue improving and at the same time help her husband with the household income. She is pleased with the opportunity to be part of the group which will be very helpful to her in getting training and continuing to improve her entrepreneurship. She mentions that in the future she wants to enlarge her store and continue to improve.

She is asking for this loan so she can buy an assortment of clothing for resale to offer her customers more variety and invest in her business to continue helping her family.

Note: There is only one person in the photo but this is a group loan. It was not possible to take a group photo because of social distancing requirements due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
