Teresa Katherine's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy perfumes, crèmes, shampoo, trinkets, fruits, and vegetables to sell.

Teresa Katherine's story

Teresa Katherine and her family live in Portoviejo, a city that was affected by an earthquake on April 16, 2016, and now by the COVID-19 pandemic. This city is rich in its production of vegetables, legumes, and tropical fruits for domestic consumption.

Teresa Katherine sells catalog products from Avon and Belcorp (Ibel, Cyzone, and Esika) that include beauty products, cosmetics, perfumes, and women’s accessories. She sells as a traveling vendor by going door to door, but she also sells at her house and through WhatsApp. Teresa Katherine offers her products on credit and collects payment on a weekly basis.

She was not able to go out to generate sales at the start of the pandemic due to social isolation, the fear of getting sick, and various restrictions. However, she is now practicing biosafety protocols.

This loan will be used to buy perfumes, crèmes, shampoo, trinkets, fruits, and vegetables. Her dreams are to have a shop where she can continue selling vegetables and to finish her university studies.
