Yolanda del Carmen (seated, wearing a dark red shirt), age 35, is the president of the Venecia communal bank in Chinandega, Nicaragua. She and her friends are punctual and well-organized entrepreneurs. They manage a variety of businesses such as fishing, small restaurants, grocery stores, and selling tortillas, cheese curd, soft drinks and ice.

Yolanda has four children: the oldest is 17 and the youngest is 5 years old. Yolanda's goal is to help them achieve a professional career.

While Yolanda works toward this dream, she needs a loan in order to restock her store. She will purchase rice, beans, sugar, oil and hygiene products.
