These eight women are part of the group which was established in June 2015. They live in the same neighborhood and share strong ties of solidarity and kinship. They have successfully repaid several loans. Their primary activity is trade.
Yacine, 54, represents the group, she is shown at the right of the photo raising her hand. She is married and has three children, two boys and a girl. They are all enrolled in school.
Yacine is in the business of selling leather which she buys from slaughterhouses and resells in the city. She has several years of experience in this sector.
She plans to use her new loan to buy leather which she will sell at a profit margin. Despite having competition, she is able to sell her products without difficulty.
Her profits will enable her to add to her savings and to develop her business.
