A loan helped to buy dried fish to sell.

01_Yenne Kao Group's story

This group of eight women is part of a banc villageois that was launched in June 2015. They live in the same village and share bonds of kinship and friendship, along with a good relationship and commitment to mutual aid. They run commercial activities and have successfully repaid more than six loans.

Mrs. Aïssatou is the group's representative. In the photo, she is on the right with a hand raised. She is 52 years old and married with six children. Four are girls, and one them is still in school. The others children are of age, and one daughter is married.

Aïssatou sells dried fish that she buys wholesale and sells in her village, out of her home. She has over 20 years of experience in this work, and her activity is doing well. She will use her loan to buy 350 kg of dried fish to sell.

Her profits allow her to build up her savings within the banc villageois.
